LIGHT-BASED THERAPIES

Time to clear things up. After all, sun damage is reversible, and Florida is not going anywhere.

IPL PHOTOFACIAL

Florida is generous with its sunshine, and after enough years of it, your skin starts keeping a record. Brown spots along the cheekbones. A flush across the nose and chin that never quite settles. Freckling on the chest and shoulders from every boat day you would absolutely do again. An IPL photofacial is one of the most effective ways I know to clear that record.

IPL stands for intense pulsed light. Instead of one wavelength, the device sends broad-spectrum light into the skin, where the pigment in a sun spot and the hemoglobin in a broken capillary absorb that energy and heat up. Your body recognizes the damaged cells and clears them out over the following days and weeks. Brown spots lift and flake away. Redness fades. And because the light also nudges your collagen along, you get a smoother, more even skin tone and texture as a bonus.

I use light-based therapy for sun damage, hyperpigmentation, sun spots, freckling, facial redness, rosacea, and broken capillaries, on the face, neck, chest, hands, and arms. Most people see the best results from a series of treatments spaced a few weeks apart, with maintenance once or twice a year to stay ahead of the Tampa sun. It is a quick appointment with no real downtime, though your spots will darken before they flake off, so I usually tell clients to schedule with a week of breathing room before anything big.

Every face is different, and IPL is not the right fit for every skin type or every concern. Book a free consultation at my Seminole Heights or Lakewood Ranch studio and I will look at your skin, talk through what is actually going on with it, and tell you honestly whether light-based therapy is your answer.
