BIOSTIMULATORY TREATMENTS
AVAILABLE AT HEIGHTENED AESTHETICS
Biostimulatory treatments are injectable products designed to support the body’s natural production of structural proteins within the skin. Depending on the product and treatment technique, they may be used to address facial volume loss, skin laxity, wrinkles and changes in skin quality.
At Heightened Aesthetics, biostimulatory treatment is based on your individual anatomy, tissue quality and goals rather than a predetermined number of vials or standardized injection pattern. We assess facial structure, volume distribution, skin thickness, elasticity and the relationship between the areas being treated before developing a treatment plan.
We offer Sculptra® and Hyperdilute Radiesse®. Although both are commonly described as biostimulatory treatments, they differ in composition, clinical characteristics and how they are used. There is not one product that is universally “best.” Product selection depends on the treatment area, degree of volume loss or skin laxity, desired outcome, previous treatments and provider assessment.

SCULPTRA
A poly-L-lactic acid injectable that supports gradual collagen production and helps restore structural support over time. It may be considered for patients experiencing facial volume loss or changes in facial contours.

HYPERDILUTE RADIESSE
A diluted calcium hydroxylapatite treatment used to support collagen and elastin production while improving the appearance of skin laxity and texture in selected areas.

BIOSTIMULATION VS. IMMEDIATE VOLUME
Traditional hyaluronic acid fillers are commonly used to create immediate volume, contour or structural support. Biostimulatory treatments work differently. Although some formulations may produce an initial visible effect, their longer-term purpose is to support changes within the treated tissue over time.
Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid particles and is used to produce gradual improvement as the treatment response develops. Radiesse contains calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a gel carrier. When Radiesse is diluted or hyperdiluted, its physical properties and clinical purpose differ from those of undiluted Radiesse used for immediate correction or support.
Biostimulatory treatments are not interchangeable with traditional fillers, and they are not necessarily a replacement for them. Depending on your anatomy and goals, a treatment plan may include a biostimulator, a hyaluronic acid filler, another treatment modality or a combination approach.
OUR APPROACH TO BIOSTIMULATORY TREATMENT
Effective biostimulatory treatment is not simply a matter of selecting a product or injecting the same number of vials in every patient.
Facial volume loss, skeletal structure, fat distribution, skin thickness and tissue laxity vary significantly from person to person. We assess these factors, along with baseline asymmetry and previous treatments, before recommending a product, treatment area or number of sessions.
The goal is not to create generalized fullness or change the features that make you recognizable. It is to determine where biostimulation may be appropriate and use a treatment plan that supports facial balance, skin quality and natural-looking progression.
Before treatment, your provider will review your medical history, medications, previous injectable treatments and any factors that may affect treatment safety, healing or results.
NOT SURE WHICH BIOSTIMULATORY TREATMENT IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
Product selection, treatment areas and the number of sessions needed are individualized based on your anatomy, skin and tissue quality, previous treatments and goals. A consultation allows us to determine whether Sculptra, Hyperdilute Radiesse or another treatment approach is most appropriate for you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When will I see results?
Biostimulatory results develop gradually. The timeline varies by product, treatment area, treatment plan and individual response. Temporary swelling immediately after treatment should not be mistaken for the final result.
Is a biostimulator the same as filler?
Not exactly. Some injectable products can provide both an immediate physical effect and longer-term biostimulatory activity, while others are used primarily for gradual collagen support. The appropriate category depends on the product, formulation, dilution and clinical purpose.
Do you offer biostimulatory treatments at both locations?
Yes. Heightened Aesthetics offers Sculptra and Hyperdilute Radiesse at both our Seminole Heights, Tampa and Lakewood Ranch locations.
